Nothing quite piques my interest like libraries. Ever since I was young, I have always though libraries were amazing resources for anyone to learn almost anything they wanted. I recently stumbled upon the website for the Library of Congress, which boasts an incredible collection of online materials, rivaling what Google has processed for Google Scholar.
The LOC has a collection of over 139 million items, and they add thousands of items per day. In comparison, Wikipedia’s has 5.7 million entries in English.
If you’re into retro art and photography of the past, you should check out their online digital collection of copyright-free materials. You might find something helpful for a project, or get lost down memory lane. I quite enjoyed their poster collection, which featured a number of items from the government, as well as entertainment posters, which are much different than today’s entertainment advertisements.
